Children's Book Project

One in four disadvantaged children have fewer than ten books at home, and one in eight has none.  This UK charity seeks to tackle book poverty and to give every child the opportunity to own their own book.  Donated books are boxed and gifted to disadvantaged children across London.  Visit the website for further ways to donate or support the charity. Recently, the Children's Book Project opened The Bookshop Upstairs which is a free bookshop for children, providing access to diverse and inclusive books that represent everyone.

Room to Read

Room to Read is a global charity seeking to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, the charity seeks to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
